Aiducation International - Your Scholarships for High Potential
Aiducation International is a non-profit organization, which has its roots in two basic principles:
1. Education is the most important lever for the individual development of people.
2. People are the most important lever for the economic, political and social development of any society.
Every year, more than 40 mio high-potentials in the world don’t have access to secondary school for purely financial reasons. Thereby, tremendous amounts of knowledge, motivation, creativity and drive are irretrievably wasted. Our mission is to realize this desperately needed potential by awarding merit-based high school scholarships to bright and needy students (in Kenya, primary school is for free, secondary is extremely expensive and after completion the 10-20% best students receive a government loan to study at university. Therefore secondary education is THE bottleneck in the Kenyan school system). Students apply at our Kenyan chapter with an 8-pages application form and are preselected by Aiducation International before they are suggested to private donors (who we call AiduMakers). The AiduMaker has the final word on who he/ she wants to donate the scholarship to. Each scholarship is named after the AiduMaker (f.e. Franklin-Smith-Scholarship) and costs 400€ per year.
The key features of each scholarship are:
* In contrast to sponsorships, each scholarship is used exclusively for school fees!
* Meritocracy is central in our approach since every scholar is bright & needy (all scholars belong to the top 10% of their class)!
* Annual progress reports summarize the performance of "your" scholar and establish an exclusive 1:1 relation.
* The AiduMakers can select the student from a pool of high potentials (application form) and name their scholarship (e.g. "Franklin-Smith-Scholarship")
* A certificate awarded to the AiduMaker demonstrates your positive impact on our world!
